What is the Factbook?
The Factbook is a weekly public forum. One question, every Sunday. Every argument on the record. Every revision visible. Every dollar tracked. After 52 weeks, we'll have something no institution has built: a living knowledge base written by real people, scored for quality, indexed by location, and permanently auditable.
It's not a social network. There's no feed. No algorithm. No ads. No engagement metrics. Just questions, arguments, evidence, and skin in the game.
“Every institution that ever controlled you used the same trick: they told you not to listen to the other side. We're asking you to listen. If that scares someone, you now know everything you need to know about them.”
Every member is traceable through an invite chain. If you invite someone who acts in bad faith, your trust score drops. This creates natural accountability without centralized moderation. The community polices itself because the community has skin in the game.
We don't want millions of users. We want thousands of honest ones.
AI doesn't decide who's right. It scores five axes: specificity, reasoning, authenticity, originality, and solution quality. It's a tiebreaker, not a kingmaker. Your peers decide rank through upvotes. AI just makes sure the conversation stays honest.
When AI detects a factual error, it flags it as a “Point of Order” — never as an opinion. The correction is visible. The original text is preserved. Everything is on the record.
Because attention without incentive produces noise. The payout pool is funded entirely by public donations. Every dollar is tracked on the audit trail. $50 for first place. $25 for second. $10 for third. Plus three random $10 draws from all contributors. Every week. For 52 weeks.
“The 20-minute cooldown exists because the people who manipulate you depend on you reacting before you think. Every minute you wait is a minute they lose control.”
After posting, you wait 20 minutes before you can post again. This isn't a bug. It's the entire point. The platforms that profit from your anger need you fast. We need you thoughtful.
“If someone tells you to stop talking and start fighting, ask yourself who benefits from your silence. If someone tells you to disregard what you read here, ask yourself what they don't want you to see. The people who profit from your anger will always tell you that understanding is weakness. They need you loud. They need you fast. They need you to never sit still long enough to realize you agree with the person they told you to hate.”
The machine will tell you to stop. That's how you know it's working.
